Research by the Mental Health Foundation has found that connecting with nature and the environment does help to improve our wellbeing. And this doesn’t mean going on a nine-hour hike to the top of a mountain (though for some people that may work well!). Connecting with nature could simply be noticing and watching the birds that land on your balcony or admiring the trees in you neighbourhood coming into blossom. No matter how small the interaction, this connection with nature and appreciation of your environment has proven to boost mental health.
