Meet Tiffanie, who has been an Orbit Property Manager for 10 months. When asked why she chose this role, Tiffanie shared her story:
"I spent many years as an estate agent and eventually became an Area Manager for an agency that specialised in high-value properties. While I enjoyed working in the property sector, my enthusiasm started to fade over time. Growing up in social housing gave me the opportunity to experience vibrant, diverse communities, and I have many fond memories of living in a close-knit neighbourhood. However, one of the homes I lived in was poorly maintained, and the area faced significant social challenges. I saw firsthand how living in such an environment impacted residents. This experience made me realise that access to quality housing and a supportive community is essential for individuals to thrive and engage fully in society.
Working on the frontline at Orbit allows me to have a direct impact on ensuring residents in my area live in a well-maintained and positive environment. I genuinely love my job and take pride in overcoming the challenges I face every day. Though it can be difficult at times, especially when customers are dealing with tough life situations, I believe that taking the time to understand their experiences and working with them to find the best solutions leads to the most positive outcomes.
One of the most rewarding moments in my role involved helping a customer with disabilities. His garden had become overgrown, creating health and safety risks for the community, and leading to complaints from neighbours. The customer felt overwhelmed by the situation, which seemed impossible to fix. While arranging gardening work isn't typically part of a Property Manager's job, I saw how much this issue was affecting both the customer and the local community. I reached out to a local gardener who kindly agreed to restore the garden at no cost to the customer. The customer was over the moon, and now he can take pride in his home and his neighbours are happy about the improvements.
I believe that living in a well-maintained home and community has a powerful, uplifting effect on residents, and I am committed to going above and beyond to ensure all of our customers experience that."
