The event featured a bake sale of Halloween treats and a cake raffle, raising over £130 for the charity. It was also a great opportunity for residents to meet their neighbours over a hot drink and find out more about the support available at the hub.
Money raised from the event will support Neighbourhood Manager Mitchelle Beadle’s fundraising efforts ahead of her participation in the 2026 London Marathon in aid of The Institute of Cancer Research.
Susan Gower, Community Hub Officer, commented:
“We decided to give our weekly coffee morning a spooky twist and it seems to have gone down well with residents! Everyone enjoyed getting into the Halloween theme, socialising with neighbours, finding out more about our Better Days services and raising money for a good cause too.”
The community hub offers free advice and guidance on a range of topics including managing finances, health and wellbeing, employability and skills through our Better Days programme.
