Rent a home
If you are looking to rent a home across the Midlands, East, Southeast and parts of London, we’re here to help. We have homes to rent with something to suit everyone, including Retirement and Supported housing.
We advertise our social and affordable homes through local councils. If you want to apply for a home, you’ll need to contact your local council and join their housing waiting list.
Most councils use a choice-based lettings system, where you can see and bid on available homes. Some councils also let you apply for housing directly. If you want to learn more about how council lettings work, the Shelter website has helpful information.
Next steps
If your local council shortlists you or nominates you for one of our homes, we’ll get in touch to explain what happens next. You’ll then need to complete the application using our online lettings service.
If we offer you a home, we will ask you to pay at least one week’s rent before you sign your tenancy agreement. We’ll talk this through with you during our conversation with you.
Mutual Exchange
If you are thinking about moving, you may be able to swap homes with another customer. This is called a Mutual Exchange. We offer this service free of charge through the HomeSwapper website.
If your Mutual Exchange is approved, you’ll need to pay at least one full week’s rent by debit or credit card before the paperwork is signed. This applies to all customers, no matter your work or benefit status.
Fair housing and equal opportunities policy
We treat everyone who has access to our homes and services the same. To find out more, you can review our lettings of home policy.
